BlueDini: Transitioning your makeup from summer to fall is as easy as 1, 2, 3...

1. Foundation:
Try a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation for fall. Since your tan is fading, you may find yourself in between foundation shades. Tinted moisturizer provides light coverage and will likely match your skin tone as you transition from your bronzy beach babe hue to a more fair complexion.

2. Lips:
As the weather cools down, you may want to try deeper lip hues. Instead of buying a bunch of new lipsticks, try lip liners in darker berry shades. That way, you can use the liners to darken up your favorite summer lipsticks. You will fall in line with the latest trends as well as save money.

3. Eyes:
Want to try new eyeshadow colors but don't want to spend a ton of money? Well stop by your nearest MAC Cosmetics store this fall to pick up the pre-made eye shadow palettes. These palettes are actually what started my love affair with MAC back in 2006. They typically consist of six shadow colors and retail for about $36 (over $30 savings) and they take the guess work out of choosing the latest shades that look good together..

Hopefully you will find these handy tips helpful. Feel free to include your own fall makeup transition tips in the comments section.

Have a BEAUTY-ful fall!

Fashion Friday: Behind The Scenes w/Alex Young on her way to Kim Kardashian's Welcome to NY Party!

Welcome to the first edition of Fashion Friday's...the column dedicated to all things girly, glam, & fabUUUlous!

This week the lovely pop princess Alex Young was invited to attend "The Night of Style & Glamour" Party which was thrown for newlyweds Kim Kardashian & Kris Humphries to welcome them to NY. Shut the front door! I KNOW!!!!

What is a pop princess to do? Umm call in the ultimate glam squad...oh and did I mention with less than 48 hours notice?!

It's ok I have a magic wand :-).

As soon as I got the call...yes me Etoile (in addition to being the maven of all things curvy, I am the maven of all things imaging, branding, & marketing) I made one call to Arlinda M. of Sofistafunk who works as Alex's stylist, designer and image consultant. We discussed the details of the event and how we wanted her to have a jaw dropping look and proceeded to get to work.

Alex wore an elegant but sexy aqua blue silk dress with a deep plunging neckline, a high split on the right side and a charcoal grey cummerbund tie belt. Her make-up was a funky aqua and plum smokey eye, bronzer and a nude lip.

Her look was described as 'resplendent' as she walked the red carpet.

And did you see THE SHOES?! Valentino...#imjustsayin

Curve to Curve Interview: Asha T. Campbell

This past week The Curvealicious Chrnicles had the opportunity to sit down with the lovely and talented make-up artist Asha Campbell. We hope you enjoy the interview!

When did you 'love affair' with make-up begin?
My love affair with makeup began when I was about 4 or 5 years old. I would watch my mom do her makeup in the morning and beg her to put lipstick on me. I remember being so fascinated with the colors.

How long have you been doing make-up?
I have been doing makeup since 1991. Back then, I was assisting my mom with a job she had working for a major cosmetic line. I was only in Junior High School at the time. That experience along with natural talent landed me a job working for MAC in 2007. That's when I began my current career as a professional MUA.

What make-up is in your purse?

I have about 10 lipsticks and glosses in my purse (laughing). The lips are the only thing I need to touch up through out the day.

What has been your career high-light to date?
My career highlight is doing Mona Scott-Young's (Executive Producer of VH1s Love & Hip Hop) makeup for the Love & Hip Hop launch party. It was such an honor to work with someone who has helped pave the way for us curvy gals!

What are your goals and aspirations?
My goals and aspirations are ever evolving but right now I would love to be a special correspondent for magazines and television shows for makeup. I actually have a background in Public Health and am media trained so I'd love to pull those skills into the world of beauty.

What make-up do you recommend that will fit every curvy's budget?

NYX jumbo pencils are super cool and affordable. They are between $3 and $5 each and can be used as eyeliner, eyeshadow base, eyeshadow and even blush.

What essentials do you feel every curvy needs on before she leaves the house for the day?
Foundation is number one for me because a smooth, blemish free canvas makes one appear healthy and radiant. Next to that I say mascara to accentuate the eyes and blush or bronzer to give the cheeks a healthy glow.

What is the one make-up line that carries a lip stick or lip gloss that works on every single complexion and looks good at every age?
Wow! That's a hard one. I think the MAC cremesheen glass line has something for everyone. The colors are muted and flat but still glossy. They aren't sticky. Deelight, Boy Bait & Over Indulgence are some of my favorites.

What are your tips on how to salvage that last bit of lipstick in the tube?
If you have a bunch of lipsticks that you are scraping to get product out of...you can take a clean disposable mascara wand and use the handle end of it to dig the remaining lipstick out. Empty the lipstick into a pill box and label each section so you know which lipstick is which.

What are your thoughts on make-up color and why every curvy girl should embrace it?
I love love love color! I think it makes things more interesting, artsy and beautiful. When added to the face & used correctly, color can really enhance your beauty and wake you up. If you are afraid of color but thinking of trying it, consult the professionals. That's what we're here for!

Coming Soon! Curvespiration!

As a curvy girl I inspire to rock every single thing that I do. And when I say rock I mean everything...from making homemade muffins on Sunday to drilling down when I am preparing a work assignment and shall we say...killing it.

I often seek & find inspiration from my curvefriends, incredible women who also seek to rock everything that they do. We are passionate. We are ambitious. We look for the doors to walk through and when we don't find them we pick up sledgehammers and create our openings.

Starting next week The Curvealicious Chronicles will post a weekly 'Curvespiration' feature on a Curvealicious woman who is Rocking Out in her chosen field.

In the coming weeks look for features on three of my fabulous curvefriends:

The divine Ms. A aka Arlinda; Design Maven of Sofistafunk; www.sofistadunk.com

The Lovely Asha Campbell; Make-Up Artist Extraordinare; www.doubletakemake-up.com

Super Talented Celebrity Photographer Rowena Husbands; www.blinkofaneyephotographyonline.com

Until Next Time,
