BlueDini: Tips for Achieving The Perfect Look on New Year's Eve

Be Bright, Bold and Beautiful this New Year's Eve

Add glitter- A little glitz goes a long way for New Years. Glitter eyeshadows and lip glosses add a bit of fun and sparkle to your face.

Try something new- Let New Year's Eve be a time of trying looks you don't typically wear. A bold eye or lip color, extra blush and bronzer...the sky is the limit! Throw caution to the wind and have fun with your makeup during this festive season.

Emulate your favorite celebrity look- Are you in love with old Hollywood glamour makeup looks...or how about something modern and trendy like Lady Gaga or Kim Kardashian? Have your makeup artist recreate your favorite celeb look or even try it yourself! Have fun with it...it's only makeup!

Smoke it out- One of the sexiest night-time looks is the smokey eye. Pick your favorite dark hue such as midnight blue, deep purple, black or grey and wear it proud. Add lashes and you are ready for the town.

Which ever look you decide to try this New Year, be sure to take lots of pictures! Be safe and have a wonderful time!

BlueDini: Protecting Your Skin From The Winter Elements

As the temperatures outside begin to fall and the winter months grow nearer, we encourage you to protect your skin from its harmful effects by taking the following steps:

1. Consult the experts. A good esthetician or dermatologist can examine your specific skin type and recommend products that are best for you. Even those who typically have oily skin may start to notice some drying in the winter and a good skin care regime can help combat that.

2. Stay hydrated! Drinking plenty of water and using a good moisturizer regularly will help maintain your skins natural healthy glow. You should also cut back on sodas, coffee and other caffeinated beverages because they tend to dehydrate the body.

3. Use sunscreen. Summer isn't the only time of year you need sunscreen. Winter sun along with snow glare can be damaging to the skin. Choose cosmetic and skin care products that contain sunscreen to help protect your skin. This will save you time so you don't have to apply sunscreen separately.

Hopefully these tips will help you give your skin the TLC that it needs during the cold winter season. Be blessed and beautiful!

BlueDini: Halloween Make-Up Tips!

Halloween Makeup Tips

Here are some fun ways to take your every day makeup and make it funky and fun for Halloween.

Go Black- Take a black eyeliner pencil and color in your lips. Add a dab of your favorite gloss for moisture and shine and pow.... You look like a more mysterious version of yourself!

Wing it out- Take your favorite eyeliner and extend and thicken it on the top lid to give your eyes a dramatic cat- like appearance. Draw on some whiskers and blacken the tip of your nose for added drama and fun!

Lash Out- Take this fun holiday to experiment with funky, trendy false lashes. There are tons of varieties sold at local drug and convenience stores such as feathers, glitter and bright bold colors... Happy lash hunting!

Picture It- If you are having a hard time choosing makeup that goes along with your costume, do an Internet search of similar looks and try them ahead of time. That way you will have it perfected for your big costume party.

If you have a costume party or event coming up and want to hire a professional makeup artist, send an email to ashatcampbell@yahoo.com with your event date, time and location you will be getting ready.

BlueDini: 7 Days of Fabulous, Fashionable beauty tips!

On The Seventh Day of Fashion Asha Tanielle said To Me...

For long wearing lip color, opt for a lip stain or a matte texture lipstick. These varieties stay put much longer which calls for less touch ups throughout the day. Another tip is to shade your entire lip with lip liner. It's the same as wearing a matte lipstick. If it feels too dry, apply a small amount of lip conditioner to the center of your lips to add hydration.

Lash out!
Long, luxurious lashes open the eyes and make you appear more awake, more polished and more glamorous! False lashes are sold at local drug and beauty supply stores and they vary in length and thickness. Some of them come with do it
yourself kits which makes the application easier. Another option is lots of mascara. Be sure to comb mascara through the lashes thoroughly to avoid clumping. Multiple coats (3 to 5) add a more dramatic effect.

On the Fifth Day of Fashion Asha Tanielle Said to Me...

Add a pop of color for a little extra flair! Try some blue or green eyeliner instead of black, or opt for a lipstick or gloss with more color if you tend to wear nudes. If you are afraid to branch out, stop by a department store makeup counter to try the new look out first.

Happy hue hunting!

On the Second Day of Fashion...

Always apply a primer before putting on your foundation. Primer smooths out the texture of your skin and helps keep the makeup out of your pores. This makes a fabulous, flawless skin finish!

BlueDini: Transitioning your makeup from summer to fall is as easy as 1, 2, 3...

1. Foundation:
Try a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation for fall. Since your tan is fading, you may find yourself in between foundation shades. Tinted moisturizer provides light coverage and will likely match your skin tone as you transition from your bronzy beach babe hue to a more fair complexion.

2. Lips:
As the weather cools down, you may want to try deeper lip hues. Instead of buying a bunch of new lipsticks, try lip liners in darker berry shades. That way, you can use the liners to darken up your favorite summer lipsticks. You will fall in line with the latest trends as well as save money.

3. Eyes:
Want to try new eyeshadow colors but don't want to spend a ton of money? Well stop by your nearest MAC Cosmetics store this fall to pick up the pre-made eye shadow palettes. These palettes are actually what started my love affair with MAC back in 2006. They typically consist of six shadow colors and retail for about $36 (over $30 savings) and they take the guess work out of choosing the latest shades that look good together..

Hopefully you will find these handy tips helpful. Feel free to include your own fall makeup transition tips in the comments section.

Have a BEAUTY-ful fall!

Fashion Friday: Behind The Scenes w/Alex Young on her way to Kim Kardashian's Welcome to NY Party!

Welcome to the first edition of Fashion Friday's...the column dedicated to all things girly, glam, & fabUUUlous!

This week the lovely pop princess Alex Young was invited to attend "The Night of Style & Glamour" Party which was thrown for newlyweds Kim Kardashian & Kris Humphries to welcome them to NY. Shut the front door! I KNOW!!!!

What is a pop princess to do? Umm call in the ultimate glam squad...oh and did I mention with less than 48 hours notice?!

It's ok I have a magic wand :-).

As soon as I got the call...yes me Etoile (in addition to being the maven of all things curvy, I am the maven of all things imaging, branding, & marketing) I made one call to Arlinda M. of Sofistafunk who works as Alex's stylist, designer and image consultant. We discussed the details of the event and how we wanted her to have a jaw dropping look and proceeded to get to work.

Alex wore an elegant but sexy aqua blue silk dress with a deep plunging neckline, a high split on the right side and a charcoal grey cummerbund tie belt. Her make-up was a funky aqua and plum smokey eye, bronzer and a nude lip.

Her look was described as 'resplendent' as she walked the red carpet.

And did you see THE SHOES?! Valentino...#imjustsayin
